This line was early on adjusted by a zealous but ignorant editor to read that Sminthian Apollo ruled over "Tenedos" (thus suggesting the Iliad may have opened on that isle), rather than "Zacynthos" to which Killa (Polace) and Chrysa (Sobra) fall, for otherwise the scenario for the Iliad could not be set in Asia Minor, at the entrance to the Dardanelles.
